New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
(Manchester)- RF Ray Sadler went 3-for-5 including a three-run homer and the Altoona Curve beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 7-3 Saturday before 5,663 at MerchantsAuto.com Stadium in Manchester.
Shane Youman (3-2) picked up the win, the second straight in the series for the Curve, allowing 1 earned run on six hits in five innings of work. He walked 2 and struck out 1.
Altoona (36-24) took a 2-0 lead in the second on a double by 1B Simon Pond, an RBI triple by LF Rafael Alvarez (2-for-5) and a single by SS Javier Guzman (2-for-4, RBI).
New Hampshire (26-33) tied the game in the second. 3B Eric Arnold (0-for-2, 2 SF, 2 RBI) drove in CF Ron Davenport with a sacrifice fly. SS Manny Mayorson had an RBI single.
Sadler's sixth homer off Fisher Cat starter Ismael Ramirez (4-5) was a three-run shot in the 3rd that gave the Curve a 5-2 lead.
SS Brandon Chavez added an RBI single in the 4th for Altoona, and 3B Brant Ust hit a solo homer in the 8th for Altoona.
Eric Arnold added a second RBI with a sacrifice fly in the 8th for New Hampshire.
The Fisher Cats and Curve complete the series Sunday afternoon at 1:05pm with RHP Mike MacDonald (5-3, 3.36) on the mound for New Hampshire against Altoona RHP Landon Jacobsen (6-5, 3.50).
