Binghamton Rumble Ponies News Release
The Binghamton Mets scored all four of their runs with two out in the third, picking up a 4-1 win over the Bowie Baysox at Prince George's Stadium Saturday. The B-Mets have taken the first two of the three-game series at Bowie, winning four in a row overall.
Corey Ragsdale began the Binghamton (27-35) third with a single and promptly stole second before Calvin Maduro struck out the next two hitters. However, Ray Navarrete drew a walk before Jorge Padilla singled up the middle, scoring Ragsdale. Maduro (1-5) then walked Michel Abreu, loading the bases for Andy Wilson, who cleared them with a three-run double to left-center for a 4-0 B-Mets lead.
Bowie (26-34) scored their only run in the fifth off reliever Robert Paulk. Raul Chavez began the frame with a double, moved to third on a groundout and scored on Jeff Fiorentino's single to center. Paulk (3-2) didn't allow anything else over three innings of work before giving way to Ivan Maldonado, who worked a scoreless eighth, and Henry Owens, who worked around a one-out single in the ninth to notch his seventh save in as many chances.
Sunday, the B-Mets wrap up their three-game set at Bowie. Miguel Perez (1-2, 4.22) gets the ball for Binghamton against Brian Finch (2-5, 3.32) of Bowie. Game time is 1:05 from Prince George's Stadium with the Horizons Federal Credit Union Pre-Game Show kicking off the broadcast at 12:50 on Newsradio 1290 WNBF.
