Altoona Curve News Release

TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Thunder bats had been hurting the Curve in the first two games of the series but Sunday it was the pitching of Zach McAllister (4-2) and Kanekoa Texeira who would silence the Curve to complete the three game sweep with a 4-1 win Sunday afternoon at Waterfront Park.

McAllister threw 6.1 innings allowing only one run on five hits and striking out 10 batters. In relief of McAllister was Kanekoa Texeira who no hit the Curve in the final 2.1 innings of play to pick up his first save of the season.

The Thunder scored a run in the first when last night's hero Justin Snyder scored on a sacrifice fly.

The Curve would even the game at one on a single by Jason Delaney that scored Angel Gonzalez.

Trenton would take the lead for good in the sixth on RBI singles by Chris Malec and Kevin Smith to put the Thunder ahead by two and in the seventh the Thunder manufactured another run to give them a three run cushion, 4-1.

Altoona now travels to Erie for a four games series beginning Monday night. Monday's probable starters will be RHP Pat Stanley (0-0, 0.00) for Erie and Curve ace Brad Lincoln (1-3, 2.05) who could break a franchise record for scoreless innings pitched if he can keep the SeaWolves off the board for four innings. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. with radio coverage for Monday's game starting at 6:50 p.m. on ESPN Radio 1430, WVAM and the Curve Radio Network.
