Curve Fall to RubberDucks, 9-1

AKRON, Ohio - The Altoona Curve surrendered nine runs over the third and fourth innings in a 9-1 loss to the Akron RubberDucks on Saturday night at Canal Park. Dan Gamache drove in the only Altoona run and finished his night with three hits, including a double.

The Curve (54-47) have dropped back-to-back games to the RubberDucks (52-49) coming off of a four-game winning streak.

The RubberDucks jumped on the board against Curve starter Jason Creasy (Loss, 8-4) with a two-run single by Ronny Rodriguez in the third and added another run in the inning with a Ryan Rohlinger sacrifice fly.

The Curve answered with an RBI single by Dan Gamache in the top of the third, but the RubberDucks poured on six runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 9-1 lead.

Creasy surrendered seven runs on six hits and three walks in three innings. Akron starter Adam Plutko (Win, 5-4) had five strikeouts in his seven innings.

Adam Frazier had two hits, including a double, and scored Altoona's only run. Barrett Barnes and Mel Rojas Jr. each had two hits for the Curve.

Rodriguez had three hits and drove in three runs for Akron.

The Curve look to split the series with the RubberDucks on Sunday afternoon at Canal Park. Right-hander Tyler Glasnow will be on the mound for Altoona, with lefty Shawn Morimando (6-10, 3.16) pitching for Akron. First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 p.m.
