Altoona Curve News Release
CURVE, PA - The Altoona Curve franchise has continually taken pride in its ability to keep family entertainment in Central Pennsylvania among the most affordable in the country.
Recently, Minor League Baseball released a survey that took into account the cost of the most popular items purchased when attending a Minor League Baseball game. The survey revealed that Curve fans pay 16 percent less than the Double-A average for the combination of tickets, hot dogs, sodas, beer, programs, and parking.
"Despite the ever-growing cost of doing business, we're extremely proud that Curve baseball continues to be among the most affordable on a national scale," said Altoona Curve General Manager Rob Egan. "We make every effort to not only offer a terrific experience at the ballpark, but to keep the cost down for families, individuals, and groups. Surveys such as the one released by the minor league office confirm that we've been successful in those efforts."
Below is a comparison of prices between the Double-A average and Blair County Ballpark. The Curve are lower in four of the six individual items surveyed and nearly $4 less for the combination of all of them.
ITEM AVERAGE COST IN AA COST AT BLAIR COUNTY BALLPARK
Adult ticket $7.02 $6.00
Hot Dog $2.71 $2.50
Soda $2.62 $3.00
Beer $4.49 $5.00
Game Program $2.47 FREE
Parking $3.90 $3.00

"Minor League Baseball continues to lead the way in providing affordable family entertainment to communities throughout the country," stated Minor League Baseball President Pat O'Conner. "At a time when many of our fans face the economic and social challenges of the day, we are pleased to offer a family-fun, community-oriented entertainment outlet that is so reasonably priced."
The figures above do not take into consideration the plethora of value-promotions the Curve offer during the week, such as Two-for-Tuesdays which allow fans to purchase two tickets, two small popcorns and two hot dogs for the price of one; Mirror Mondays, which provide fans with $2 coupons for Grandstand and Terrace level tickets; Weis Buy Thursdays - $2 discounts on Grandstand tickets by presenting a Weis Preferred Shoppers Card; and Thirsty Thursdays, which provides fans with $2 16-ounce specials on select draft beer and half-price 22 oz. sodas ($1.50).
