KALAMAZOO, MI- Centerman Curtis Valk has been re-assigned to the Kalamazoo Wings from the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League, the team announced Wednesday.

Valk, 22, of Medicine Hat, Alberta, who is on an American Hockey League contract, has skated in 29 games with the Wings this season, and has registered 32 points (16 goals, 16 assists). He was called up to the Comets on March 25, and appeared in six games with Utica during the stint. Valk had four points on a goal and three assists.

Eight of Valk's 29 games played with Kalamazoo on the season have been multi-point performances, and he is currently riding a season-high seven-game point streak that dates back March 11. Valk tied a career mark with four points (one goal, three assists) in a win over the Brampton Beast on January 8, and his year of firsts also included his first professional hat trick on February 5 in a victory over the Toledo Walleye.

Before turning pro, the 5-foot-9 centerman played four seasons with the Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL), and was able to produce at a tremendous level. In 270 career games in the WHL, Valk registered 125 goals and 130 assists. In 2012-13 Valk poured in 91 points for the Tigers, and in the following season, topped that total by producing a career-high 92 points in Medicine Hat.

Valk will dress in Wednesday's game against the Brampton Beast at the Powerade Centre in Brampton, Ontario, with puck drop scheduled for 7:15 p.m. The Wings currently sit in ninth place in the Eastern Conference, two points back of a playoff spot.

Kalamazoo continues their five-game road trip with tilts at Brampton on Wednesday, February 6 and Toledo on Friday, February 8. The Wings return home on Saturday, April 9 for their final regular season home game of the 2015-16 season, as they entertain the Toledo Walleye.
