After scoreless first and second period, the South Carolina Stingrays took the lead 20 seconds into the third frame. Caleb Herbert skated down the right side of the ice and lasered a shot from the right circle past the glove of Gladiators goaltender, Matt Ginn. The unassisted tally marks Herbert's eighth goal and 11th point of the season.

The Stingrays extended the lead with 10:43 left in the third period to make the score 2-0. David Pecan gathered the puck at the left circle and found Austin Fyten cutting across the face of the goal, who then slotted the puck past a stick-less Ginn. Joey Leach was credited with the secondary helper while Pecan recorded his 60th point on Fyten's eighth goal of the year.

Pecan would add an empty net goal for the Stingrays with 1:57 left in the third period to seal a 3-0 victory for South Carolina. Fyten found the streaking Pecan on the right side who quickly deposited the puck into the Gladiator net. The Ottawa native netted his 20th goal of the season while Fyten and Herbert both earned their second points of the night.

Because of the loss, Atlanta was eliminated from playoff contention and dropped to a record of 33-30-5-2. South Carolina extended their lead in the South Divison with their 42nd win which gave them 94 points.
