The Iowa Cubs were held to three hits in the Albuquerque Isotopes' 4-0 win Sunday at Principal Park.
Charlie Haeger (1-1, 4.22), on rehab with the Los Angeles Dodgers AAA affiliate, threw six innings of shutout baseball. He struck out four and allowed two hits to pick up the win.
The Isotopes were held scoreless until the fifth inning when Xavier Paul singled and Jamie Hoffmann followed with a double. Justin Sellers then hit a sacrifice fly for the first run of the ball game and a 1-0 Albuquerque lead.
The Isotopes posted a run in both the sixth and seventh innings thanks to solo home runs. Jay Gibbons left the yard in the sixth and Lucas May went deep in the seventh, for the 3-0 lead. Albuquerque posted their fourth and final run in the ninth inning when Russ Mitchell doubled and was driven in on Hoffmann's single.
Iowa's Chris Robinson was 2-for-3 in the loss. Casey Coleman (6-6, 3.89) got the loss allowing one run on four hits over five innings of work.
The Cubs and Isotopes play game four of this series Monday First pitch is scheduled for 12:05 p.m.
