
C's Drop Nightcap 6-1 to Everett AquaSox to Split Doubleheader

(Memorial Stadium - Everett, WA) - The Everett Aquasox (47-25) would send ten hitters to the plate in the bottom of the 1st inning scoring six times and chasing Canadians starter LHP Ryan Quigley in the process as Vancouver (41-32) dropped the back end of a double header to Everett 6-1 on Thursday night out at Everett Memorial Stadium.
Vancouver starter LHP Ryan Quigley (3-3) gave up six earned runs on four hits as the Aquasox pounded the native of Taunton, MA making his first professional start. When the dust settled Everett had a 6-0 lead.
Canadians reliever RHP Drew Tyson was able to come in a limit the Everett offense over his 2.2 innings of work striking out five in his first appearance since June 29th. Vancouver RHP Blake Hassebrock was also strong in his appearance scattering three hits over his 2.2 innings of work without allowing a run.
Vancouver's offense pounded out 12 hits in the first game of the Thursday night double header but ran into LHP Anthony Fernandez in the nightcap who went six scoreless innings allowing just three hits, striking out four for his 8th win of the summer.
The Canadians got their lone run of the game in the top of the 7th inning when 1B A.J. Kirby-Jones hit his team leading 14th home run of the season off of Everett reliever RHP Jordan Merry to break to Aquasox shutout bid.
