
Crunch Sign Left Wing Rick Cleaver And Center Charlie Kronschnabel

Syracuse, NY (December 29, 2009) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have signed left wing Rick Cleaver and center Charlie Kronschnabel each to a professional tryout contract. As per club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Cleaver, 26, has appeared in 26 games with Kalamazoo (ECHL) this season and currently ranks seventh in the ECHL in scoring with 13 goals, 21 assists and 20 penalty minutes. He has also skated in two games with Hershey this season and made his AHL debut with the Bears on November 20 at Binghamton.
A native of Parksville, British Columbia, Cleaver spent four years at Norwich (ECAC East) from 2004-08 prior to turning pro, appearing in 102 games, tallying 92 goals, 66 assists and 64 penalty minutes.
Kronschnabel, 26, has appeared in 31 games with Reading (ECHL) this season, notching seven goals, six assists and 25 penalty minutes. He skated in 44 games with Iowa last season, recording two goals, five assists and 19 penalty minutes.
Since the 2006-07 season, Kronschnabel has skated in 48 combined AHL games with Iowa and Portland, registering two goals, six assists and 19 penalty minutes. A native of Mendota Heights, Minnesota, Kronschnabel spent four years at Alaska-Anchorage (WCHA) prior to turning pro, appearing in 126 games, racking up 24 goals, 40 assists and 93 penalty minutes.
The Crunch's next game in on Tuesday, December 29 as they travel to Austin to take on the Texas Stars. The club's next home game is Saturday, January 2 when they battle Albany at 7:30 p.m. at the War Memorial at Oncneter.
