Crunch Sign Bruno St. Jacques

Syracuse, NY (October 4, 2007) -The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have signed defenseman Bruno St. Jacques to an American Hockey League contract. They also announced that the Columbus Blue Jackets have re-assigned defensemen John Landry and Trevor Hendrikx to the Elmira Jackals.

St. Jacques, 27, appeared in 37 games with Norfolk of the AHL last season, posting 4 goals, 8 assists and 33 penalty minutes. St. Jacques also appeared in 25 games last season with Portland of the AHL, tallying 1 goal, 8 assists and 26 penalty minutes. A native of Montreal, Quebec, St. Jacques was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 9th round, 253rd overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.

Landry, 23, appeared in 27 games last season for Holy Cross College of Atlantic Hockey, notching 9 goals, 18 assists and 54 penalty minutes. A native of Lexington, Massachusetts, Landry was signed as a free agent by Columbus on March 19, 2007.

Hendrikx, 22, appeared in 41 games with Dayton in the ECHL last season, tallying 5 goals, 6 assists and 88 penalty minutes. A native of Russell, Ontario, Hendrikx was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 7th round, 201st overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

The Crunch open their 14th AHL season on October 5 in Rochester. The club's Quickway Opening Night is set for Saturday, October 13 vs. Hartford.
