SYRACUSE, N.Y. - For the sixth consecutive game, the Syracuse Crunch scored four unanswered goals on their way to a 5-3 victory over the Binghamton Devils tonight at the War Memorial Arena.

Cameron Gaunce registered a four-point night, while Carter Verhaeghe and Cory Conacher both tallied a goal and two assists. The victory advances the Crunch to 10-5-1-0 on the season with a six-game winning streak and nine-game points streak. Syracuse now holds a 4-0 lead in the 10-game series against Binghamton.

Connor Ingram earned his fifth consecutive win backstopping the Crunch with 30 saves. Devils goaltender Eddie Lack stopped 21-of-26. Syracuse continued to be productive on the power play going 2-for-7. The penalty kill shut down 7-of-8 Binghamton man-advantages.

The Crunch opened scoring 21 seconds in and put up four goals in the first period. Hubert Labrie ripped a slapshot from the left point that was tipped by Gabriel Dumont down low for his first of the season. Verhaeghe recorded the secondary assist. At the 5:31 mark, Verhaeghe tallied one of his own when he netted a wrister from the slot with the help of Conacher and Gaunce.

Syracuse went up by three at the 11:33 mark with another power-play goal. After a series of quick passes around the top of the zone, Conacher powered in a one-timer from the top of the right circle. Assists went to Gaunce and Verhaeghe. Dumont then tallied his second of the game shorthanded 46 seconds later. He chased down a loose puck into the offensive zone and backhanded a shot over Lack after he crossed the slot. Gaunce and Michael Bournival got points on the goal.

The Devils came back within one with three goals in the second period. Five minutes into the frame, Colton White scored on the man-advantage with a slap shot from the blueline off assists from Blake Pietila and Brandon Gignac. Halfway through the frame, Nick Lappin forced a turnover in the corner and passed off for Pietila to light the lamp from the right circle.

With 3:52 remaining in the second period, Marian Studenic snuck a shot short side from the right faceoff dot with the help of Gignac and Colby Sissons.

With less than a minute remaining in the game, Alex Barré-Boulet tipped in Gaunce's high slot shot for the insurance marker. Conacher made it a three-point night with the secondary assist.

The Crunch travel to face the Springfield Thunderbirds tomorrow at 7:05 p.m.
