
Rangers Recall Tim Gettinger from Hartford

NEW YORK - New York Rangers General Manager Jeff Gorton announced today that the team has recalled forward Tim Gettinger from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Gettinger, 20, has skated in 20 games with the Wolf Pack this season, registering seven goals and four assists for 11 points, along with six penalty minutes. Entering today, he is tied for first among AHL rookies in goals in 2018-19. In addition, Gettinger is tied for first on the Wolf Pack in goals, is tied for second on the team in shots on goal (42), and is tied for third in power play goals (two) thus far this season. He registered a point in each of his first four games of the season, and he recorded his first career AHL goal/point while making his AHL debut on Oct. 5 vs. Providence. Gettinger has tallied a goal/point in three of the last six games and has recorded four points (three goals, one assist) over the span.
The 6-6, 220-pounder played four seasons with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) prior to beginning his professional career this season. Gettinger skated in 242 OHL games during his four seasons with Sault Ste. Marie (2014-15 - 2017-18), registering 91 goals and 96 assists for 187 points, along with a plus-67 rating and 125 penalty minutes. He established OHL career-highs in several categories with Sault Ste. Marie in 2017-18, including games played (66), goals (33), assists (36), points (69), and plus/minus rating (plus-35), and he served as the Greyhounds' captain during the season.
The Cleveland, Ohio native was selected by the Rangers in the fifth round, 141st overall, of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
