
Crowe Sharp, But Sens Fall Short in 3-1 Loss

Harrisburg Senators News Release
After tallying 21 runs in the first two games of the series, the Senators fell 3-1 to Richmond in the series finale Wednesday night at FNB Field. Harrisburg went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and twice had opportunities to score with a runner at third base with one out but failed to do so. The Sens missed an opportunity for their first sweep since May 28-30 against New Hampshire.
Harrisburg (47-37, 5-9); Richmond (31-51, 8-7)
Turning Point
After Richmond scored twice in the top of the fourth, the Sens loaded the bases in the bottom of the fourth with one out on a walk, single and a walk. But they scored just one run on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Tyler Goeddel.
On Capitol Hill
- Wil Crowe was the tough luck loser, going seven innings and allowing just two runs on five hits while striking out seven.
- Ronald Pena pitched two frames and allowed a run on three hits.
With the Gavel
- The Sens managed just four hits in the game and stranded six overall and four in scoring position.
Filibusters
Harrisburg won their first series since taking two of three from Richmond at The Diamond in June.
The Sens are on the road at Bowie for four games leading into the All-Star Break.

The Senators play the Bowie Baysox at Prince George's Stadium Thursday night at 6:35 p.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 6:50 p.m.
