Hudson Valley Renegades News Release

(Wappingers Falls, NY)- The Hudson Valley Renegades found themselves in an unusual position Friday night, on the losing side of a game played at Dutchess Stadium. The Williamsport Crosscutters defeated Hudson Valley 4-3 in the final game of a three-game series, ending their six game winning streak. The loss was just the Renegades' fourth at home all season and their first in the month of August.

Hudson Valley took advantage of two Williamsport errors in the third to take the lead in the bottom of the second inning. Alec Sole reached on an error to lead off the inning, and moved to second on a Braxton Lee single. Sole then advanced to third on a Bralin Jackson fielder's choice and plated Hudson Valley's first run on a fielding error by Williamsport with Grant Kay at the plate, making the score 1-0 through three full innings.

Williamsport tied the game in the fourth and later took the lead by scoring two runs off Hudson Valley starter Jose Alonzo in the 6th. The two runs ended Alonzo's night, as he threw 5.1 innings in the outing allowing two earned runs with five strikeouts.

Hunter Lockwood helped bring Hudson Valley a run closer in the 6th, as he launched his 13th home run of the season and his 10th at Dutchess Stadium. His homer moved the Renegades to within one run after six innings.

Hudson Valley pulled even with Williamsport in the 7 th inning and tied the game at 3-3. Braxton Lee singled to lead off and moved to second on a Bralin Jackson walk. Lee then advanced to third on an infield groundball and came around to score a Grant Kay RBI single.
