The Crosscutters lost a heartbreaker in New Jersey Monday night 11-10. Williamsport surrendered 11 runs and 16 hits for the 2nd night in row. The good news was a loss by the Lowell Spinners which kept the Cutters at 1 ½ games back in the wild-card race. Pirate 1st round draft choice Andrew McCutchen continues to sizzle at the plate going 3-for-5. He is now batting .526 (10-for-19) in his first 4 games in a Cutters uniform. 3B Eddie Prasch drove in 3 Cutters runs. The only extra-base hit for Williamsport was a double by McCutchen in the 2nd inning.
Williamsport wraps up their road-trip Tuesday night in New Jersey before coming home for the final 9 games of the regular season.
