The Lake Monsters added another run in the fifth on back-to-back one-out singles from Fabiaschi, who also had two doubles, and Pan before a Nick Rickles RBI groundout.
The Muckdogs got a pair of runs back off Vermont starter Brent Powers in the bottom of the fifth on Roberto Reyes second solo home run of the game and an RBI single from Garrett Wittels to cut the deficit to 5-3.
