Hickory Crawdads News Release
Hickory, NC-The Hickory Crawdads beat the Asheville Tourists, 8-5, on Monday at L.P. Frans Stadium. Jonel Pacheco and Bobby Kingsbury combined for 6 RBI and Matt McSwain allowed just 2 ER in 5 IP to pick up the win.
The Crawdads took a 3-0 lead in the 1st after Pacheco and Kingsbury teamed up to knock in 3 runs on back-to-back doubles.
Later on, with the Dads' up 4-2, Kris Watts deposited a solo HR over the RF wall. Jonel Pacheco hit a 2-run homer in the 5th to put the game out of reach. Asheville cut Hickory's lead to 3, but that's as close as it would get as Charles Benoit closed out the 8th and 9th with just 1 ER allowed.
The Crawdads continue their 4 game series at home against Asheville tomorrow night at 7:00. LHP Tony Watson is scheduled to start for Hickory. All games can be heard live on WMNC 92.1 FM.
