LEXINGTON, KY - The Hickory Crawdads scored eight unanswered runs after the third inning to claim the come-from-behind 8-4 victory against the Lexington Legends before 5,625 fans at Applebee's Park on Thursday night.

The Legends (24-35, 60-69) got out to a hot start in the bottom of the first, plating two runs against RHP Wilmer Font. With runners at first and second and two down, C Federico Hernandez ripped a ground ball inside the first base line all the way down to the right field corner, plating both base runners on the two-run double and making it 2-0. Font ended up striking out the side in the frame.

Lexington stretched their lead to four runs in the bottom of the third, plating a pair against Font. SS Brandon Wikoff drove in a run with an RBI triple and scored on an RBI single by DH Brian Pellegrini, making it 4-0.

The Crawdads (27-32, 60-68) got on the board against RHP Ross Seaton in the top of the fourth inning. After SS Andres James reached second base on a two-base error to start the inning, he then moved to third on a CF Jared Bolden sacrifice bunt and came in on an RBI grounder by C Vinny DiFazio, cutting the deficit to 4-1.

Hickory drew even closer in the top of the sixth inning, striking for a run against Seaton. Bolden reached on a fielder's choice and advanced all the way to third on a double hit by DiFazio down the left field line. LF Cristian Santana then drove the ball to center field for a sacrifice fly, scoring Bolden from third and making it just a 4-2 deficit.

The Crawdads continued to chip away in the top of the seventh inning against RHP Arcenio Leon in his first inning of work. With two outs in the frame, 1B Ed Koncel belted his first home run as a Crawdad, a solo shot over the left field wall to cut the Legends lead down to 4-3.

Hickory completed the comeback and moved ahead by a run with two tallies in the top of the eighth against RHP Kyle Godfrey (1-3). Bolden reached on a sacrifice bunt and an error, which ended up retiring James, who tried to score on the miscue. DiFazio then came up with Bolden at first and one away, and belted an RBI double to right field to bring in Bolden and tie the game. With two outs and DiFazio at third, RF Aja Barto came through with an RBI single to right-center, plating DiFazio and putting the Crawdads in their first lead of the game, 5-4

Hickory then struck for three more runs in the top of the ninth inning, on two hits and three big errors by Lexington. Bolden collected the only RBI in the frame on a single that drove in SS Leury Garcia, while the other runs came in on Lexington miscues in the frame. RHP Cody Eppley, who took over on the mound in the bottom of the eighth, struck out the side in the bottom of the ninth, concluding the 8-4 win for the Crawdads. RHP Jorge Quintero (2-0), who pitched three scoreless innings in relief of Font, earned the victory and Eppley logged the save, while Godfrey was tagged with the loss for Lexington.
