
Joseph Named July's Topps Player of the Month

CHARLESTON- Charleston RiverDogs infielder Corban Joseph was named Topps Player of the Month for the South Atlantic League, as announced Thursday by The Topps Company of New York, in conjunction with Minor League Baseball.
A former fourth round selection by the Yankees in 2008, Joseph feasted on SAL pitching last month, finishing July with a robust .410 average (43-105) with eight doubles, two triples, two home runs, 21 RBI and 16 runs scored.
The Franklin, Tenn. native had 13 multiple hit games, including a stretch of six in a row from July 20-26 when he was 18-for-27 at the plate.
Joseph has been a fixture in the No. 3 spot in the order since his promotion from Extended Spring Training on May 11, has hit at a torrid .356 pace since the All-Star Break and is tied for the team lead with 28 multi-hit games.
