Coyotes Recall McGrattan from San Antonio

GLENDALE, ARIZONA -- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled right wing Brian McGrattan from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage.

McGrattan, 27, has appeared in three games with the Coyotes this season and one game with San Antonio. In 146 career NHL games with the Coyotes and Ottawa Senators, McGrattan has recorded 2-8-10 and 299 penalty minutes (PIM).

From 2002-2005, McGrattan appeared in 196 games with Binghamton of the AHL, recording 25-22-47 and 1,051 PIM. In 2004-05, the six-foot-four, 245-pound McGrattan broke the AHL single-season penalty minute record with 551 PIM.

A native of Hamilton, Ontario, McGrattan was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the fourth round (104th overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. The Coyotes acquired him from Ottawa in exchange for a fifth round choice in the 2009 Entry Draft on June 25, 2008.
