Moose sign Pope to PTO

The Manitoba Moose announced today they have signed forward Matt Pope to a professional tryout contract.

Pope, 24, has appeared in 54 games so far this season with the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL, where he has scored 63 points (30-33-63) and recorded 72 penalty minutes. The Langley, BC native is currently ninth in the ECHL in scoring and his 30 goals have him positioned sixth in the league in goal-scoring. He also has 13 powerplay goals which is good for fifth in the ECHL.

Pope also appeared in four games this season with the Binghamton Senators of the AHL where he scored three points (2-1-3) and four penalty minutes. Previous to this, his rookie season, Pope spent four seasons with Bemidji State of the NCAA where he appeared in 143 games and accumulated 71 points (33-38-71) and 126 penalty minutes with the Beavers.
