March 17, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Houston Aeros News Release
HOUSTON, Texas - Get ready for the clash of the culinary arts at the Houston Aeros Food Face-Off today from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the Sienna Market HEB in Missouri City. Aeros players will whisk and blend, fry and bake to satisfy the pallets of the critics with the most tasteful delicacies ever concocted by a hockey player!
Nolan Schaefer and Brandon Rogers will pit their cooking skills against Marco Rosa and Matt Kassian's at the Food Face-Off where the teams will have to use a secret ingredient to create their dishes. Six patrons will be selected to judge and choose the winning duo. Following the Face-Off there will be an opportunity for photos and autographs at this very unique event. The Sienna Market HEB is located at 8900 Highway 6 in Missouri City.
The players put their aprons back down this weekend as the Aeros hosts the Peoria Rivermen on both Saturday (7:35 p.m.) and Sunday (4:05 p.m.) as the teams race toward the playoffs. Houston will wear their Houston Aeros Charities (HAC) jersey one last time Saturday night as the "Jerseys Off Their Bakcs" auction comes to a close during the second intermission. The winners of each jersey will meet their player on the ice after the game to receive the sweater and have it personally autographed. Benoit Pouliot's jersey is only available online until Friday at 12:01 p.m. Don't miss out on this special opportunity to help benefit HAC, bid early and often!
