Phantoms Sign Defenseman David Sloane

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Phantoms announced today that they have signed defenseman David Sloane to an amateur tryout contract, according to club general manager Paul Holmgren. He will wear uniform #6.

Sloane, 23, posted four assists and 39 penalty minutes in 35 games in his senior season at Colgate University this season. He was also named to the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team.

In 129 career games over four years at Colgate, Sloane tallied 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points and 100 penalty minutes.

The Ambler, Pennsylvania native was a second-round draft pick of the Chicago Steel of the USHL, where he played during the 2004-2005 season before attending Colgate.

The Phantoms are next in action tomorrow when they travel up the Northeast Extension to meet the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 7:05. The two teams will meet again in Philadelphia's next home game this Friday night at the Spectrum at 7:05. The first 3,000 kids 14 and under will receive t-shirt jerseys courtesy of Comcast. Philadelphia is also back at home on Saturday night for a huge matchup against Binghamton at 7:05.
