Tonight will be the second of three meetings this season between the Kalamazoo Wings and the Wheeling Nailers. Kalamazoo won the first encounter between the teams 6-5 back on November 4th at the WesBanco Arena. The teams will square off again on February 26th at Wings Stadium.
Despite losing in overtime last night, the K-Wings increased their lead in the North Division. With 48 points, Kalamazoo leads their division by seven points over the Chicago Express and Cincinnati Cyclones. After tonight, Kalamazoo will return home to start a three-game home stand.
Tonight is the middle-game of a three-game home stand for the Nailers. Wheeling started the stretch with a 4-2 loss last night to the Reading Royals. The Nailers, who are in second place in the Atlantic Division, have dropped two straight games at home.

Goaltender Maxime Clermont stopped 42 shots yesterday in the K-Wings 3-2 OT loss to Cincinnati. The 42 saves by Clermont, were not only a season-high for the K-Wings, it was a career-best for the rookie goaltender.
Solid After One
When the K-Wings hold a lead after 40 minutes of play, they have been nearly unbeatable. On the season, Kalamazoo is 14-0-0-1 when leading after two periods of play.
Dishing it Out
Forward Trent Daavettila has dished out 31 assists this season. The 31 helpers places Daavettila third in the entire league.
Atlantic Bound
Tonight will start a stretch for the K-Wings of playing back-to-back games against teams from the Atlantic Division. Kalamazoo, will have played four out of their last five games against Atlantic Division foes including this weekend, is 5-4-0-1 against the division.
