Reign Topple Condors 2-1 in OT

Bakersfield Condors News Release
CONDORSTOWN, Calif. - The Ontario Reign (22-14-2-2, 48pts) scored both of their goals on the power play, including the game winner in overtime, to come away with a 2-1 victory over the Bakersfield Condors (10-28-4-1, 25pts) in front of 6,021 fans at Rabobank Arena Friday night.
Despite early pressure, Bakersfield failed to register a shot through the first 10 minutes of the game, and fell behind 1-0. D Chris Huxley snuck a shot through traffic on a 5-on-3 power play for the Reign. It was the first of two two-man advantages for Ontario in the period. G Bryan Pitton made 13 first period saves for the Condors.
The Condors were physical in the second period, and power their way to a 13-9 lead in shots in the frame. And a turnove r by the Reign deep in their zone led to F Alex Hudson rapping in his first career goal at 15:59 to make it 1-1. F Evan Trupp picked up the lone assist.
Neither team lit the lamp in the third period, although the Condors had their chances with four power plays in that frame. One of those continued into overtime, but they were unable to convert against the league's second best penalty kill. Early in the extra session, the Reign earned a power play of their own, and converted, with RW Derek Couture redirecting a shot past Pitton for the game winner at 2:21 in overtime.

LW Hans Benson returned from suspension to the lineup tonight... Hudson became the ninth player to record his first pro goal this season for the Condors... Ontario has scored first in six of the nine meetings this season... F Ian McKenzie left the game injured in the third period and did not return... Shots on goal: BAK- 23, ONT- 37...
