Countdown to Face-Off
February 21, 2006 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Today's game between the Kalamazoo Wings and the Motor City Mechanics will be the seventh between the teams this season. On the year, the K-Wings are 4-2-0 against their division rivals; however, the Mechanics did defeat the K-Wings 5-2 in their last encounter on February 17th.
A victory for the Kalamazoo Wings today means they will pull even with the Muskegon Fury for the top spot in the Central Division. Besides looking to avenge last Friday's loss to the Mechanics, the K-Wings will also try to avenge last year's loss to Motor City during Education Day.
Motor City enters Wings Stadium riding a two-game winning streak. The Mechanics, who are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games, are in third place in the Central Division, 18 points behind the K-Wings. If the playoffs were to start today, the Mechanics, who have 57 points, would be the seventh seed.
