Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Ill.- After Saturday's contest, the Rockford IceHogs will embark on a season-long seven-game road swing that will span 20 days. But IceHogs fans will have two opportunities to catch the Hogs this week at the MetroCentre before the long road trip.
On Thursday, the IceHogs drop the puck with the Port Huron Flags at the MetroCentre at 7:05 p.m. The game was moved up a day (originally scheduled for Friday, Feb. 24) to accommodate a concert at the MetroCentre. The game is home game #29 for Season Ticket Holders. The visit is the final of the season by Port Huron.
Then on Saturday, the arch-rival Quad City Mallards come to town for another Western Division showdown. Game time is 7:05 p.m. and the doors will open at 4 p.m. The first 1,000 fans to the game, beginning at 4 p.m., will receive an IceHogs Sports Bag courtesy of Members Alliance Credit Union, B103 and 23WIFR. At 4:30 p.m., the IceHogs will host a Jr. IceHogs game at the MetroCentre.
In other IceHogs news, center Preston Mizzi was loaned to the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League. For Mizzi, it's the third time that he has been loaned to the AHL this season. His first two call-ups to the "A" were to the IceHogs AHL affiliate Milwaukee Admirals. In 12 games with the Admirals, Mizzi had a goal and 14 penalty minutes.
Mizzi is expected to suit up for San Antonio tonight when they travel to Peoria to take on the Rivermen. The Rampage will then play in Milwaukee on Thursday against the Admirals. This season with Rockford, Mizzi is tied for the team lead with 22 goals and is third on the club with 45 points despite missing 10 games due to AHL call-ups.
