Countdown to Face-Off
December 17, 2005 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Two of the top teams in the United Hockey League will face-off tonight, when the Kalamazoo Wings host the Adirondack Frostbite. Despite starting the night tied with the Rockford IceHogs for the second best record in the league, both the K-Wings and the Frostbite have had some recent woes. Kalamazoo will look to snap a three-game winless streak, while Adirondack has dropped four straight.
While the K-Wings became the final team in the league to lose had home, they enter tonight trying to extend their overall winning streak when it comes to playing in Teddy Bear Toss Games. The K-Wings won all eight of the Teddy Bear Toss Games they have played in, including five at Wings Stadium. One of the K-Wings road teddy bear wins did come against the Frostbite last season.
Adirondack starts the night atop of the UHL's Eastern Division. The Frostbite's lead over Danbury, who is in second place in the division, was 12 points two weeks ago; however, the lead has evaporated to just two points over the past 14 days. Besides trying to get back to their winning ways, the Frostbite will look to end the streak against the team that started it, as the K-Wings defeated the Frostbite 4-2 back on December 4th.
