D'Alessandro-Dogs Shut Out Flint

December 17, 2005 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Richmond RiverDogs News Release

FLINT, MI- Mike D'Alessandro's 33 saves, a second period goal by Mike Oliveira and a terrific defensive team performance gave the Richmond RiverDogs a 1-0 victory over the Flint Generals before a crowd of close to 2,000 at Perani Arena. The shutout was the first for the Richmond team this season in the first of a three game road swing for the RiverDogs. The victory was double sweet as several former Flint Generals from last season, which includes General Manager/Head Coach Robbie S. Nichols, John DiPace, Bobby Kukulka, Mike Wolf, Kris Waltz and Administrative Assistant Edward R. Meek, made their first and only appearance in Flint . Richmond and Flint will meet for the final time this season at the Richmond Coliseum on Friday, December 23 at 7:35 PM.

The RiverDogs will travel to Rockford to play against the IceHogs tomorrow night before ending the three game road trip Tuesday against the Roanoke Valley Vipers. The Tuesday night game is one of two rescheduled games against the Vipers which was caused by poor ice conditions at the Roanoke Civic Center in early November. The RiverDogs return home on Wednesday, December 21 when they play host to the Elmira Jackals at 7:05 pm.

Season tickets, FlexPaks, Richmond Times-Dispatch Family 4 Packs and group packages are now available through the RiverDogs office. For more information call the RiverDogs at 804-225-PUCK (7825).
