
Trashers fall 4-3 in shootout

ROANOKE, VA--For the second time in three games, the Danbury Trashers failed to hold a 3rd period lead as they let the Roanoke Vipers win 4-3 in a shootout at the Roanoke Civic Center on Saturday night.
In a game that went back and forth, the Trashers finally scored as Regan Kelly netted a power play goal at the 17:21 mark of the second on a 5-on-3. However, the Vipers scored with just 11 seconds left in the period on a power play goal by Josh Tataryn.
In the third, Jamie Thompson gave Danbury a 2-1 lead with his 4th of the season at the 5:06 mark, but Mike Krelove tied the game with his second just 1:28 later. JM Daoust regained the lead for Danbury at the 15:36 mark, but the Vipers LP Martin tied the score with his 10th just 18 seconds later.
Daoust scored in the shootout, while all three shooters, Crusco, Martin and Shaneberger all scored for the Vipers. Sly Daigle stopped 32 of 35 while Jamie Hodson made 27 saves.
Danbury earned a point with the shootout loss and is now 15-7-4 for 34 points, just one behind Adirondack, who were blanked 4-0 in Kalamazoo on Saturday night.
The Trashers will face off in Roanoke on Sunday at 5:00pm. The Trashers return home on Wednesday December 28th against Richmond at 7:00pm from the Danbury Ice Arena. The Trashers are also holding a special for the New Year's Eve/New Year's Night games against Richmond and Adirondack.
