December 11, 2004 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
For the second time this season and the first-time ever at Wings Stadium the K-Wings will play the Danbury Trashers. Danbury defeated the K-Wings back on December 1st at the Danbury Ice Arena in a game that was marred with penalties. Tonight is Win 98.5 Win-Win Night, if the K-Wings win, everyone in attendance will receive a coupon for a FREE ticket to the K-Wings game against the Richmond River Dogs on December 15th.
After losing to Muskegon last night, Kalamazoo is looking to get back to their winning ways. The K-Wings enter tonight in third place in the Central Division and are only six points behind division front runners Muskegon and Flint. Yannick Carpentier comes into tonight's game looking to extend the K-Wings longest scoring streak of the season. Carpentier has registered a point in each of the K-Wings last five games.
While the Trashers may be a first year franchise on paper, Danbury is playing veterans of the UHL circuit. Despite their loss last night, the Trashers have won eight of their last ten games. The Trashers are led by Brent Gretzky. Gretzky, who is no stranger to Wings Stadium from his days with both Fort Wayne and Port Huron, leads the Trashers in scoring with 24 points.
