The school yard will be jumping as the Kalamazoo Wings host the Fort Wayne Komets on Education Day presented by United Healthcare. On the season, the K-Wings are 1-1-1-0 against the Komets. Today is the fourth of 15 regular season encounters between the teams.

Today is the third-leg of a five-game home stand for the K-Wings. Kalamazoo is 2-0-0-0 during the stand and enters this morning looking to extend a three-game home unbeaten streak (2-0-1-0). With13 points the K-Wings are in second place in the North Division, three points behind the Komets.

The Komets have been streaking. Fort Wayne enters Wings Stadium looking to extend a three-game overall winning streak, as well as a four-game road winning streak. The Komets lone loss of the season occurred on Halloween at home in a 3-1 decision to the K-Wings.

Back to School

The K-Wings will head back to school this morning when they play the Fort Wayne Komets on Education Day presented by United Healthcare. All-time Kalamazoo is 11-7-1-1 in morning games, including 7-7-0-1 at Wings Stadium.

Valk heads to Utica

Yesterday forward Curtis Valk was reassigned to the AHL's Utica Comets. Valk is the fourth member of the K-Wings this season to be recalled to the AHL.

Martin Receives Recognition

On Tuesday, goaltender Joel Martin was named the CCM/ECHL Goaltender of the Week. Martin went 2-0-0-0 last week with a goals-against average of 1.44 and a save percentage of 0.933 in two appearances versus the Elmira Jackals.

Kalamazoo enters today looking to extend a streak. The K-Wings are unbeaten in regulation in three appearances (2-0-1-0) at Wings Stadium.
