Countdown to Face-off Kalamazoo Wings @ Missouri River Otters Family Arena St. Charles, MO Sunday, February 16, 2003 6:15 PM (CST)
Game Preview Something will have to give tonight at the Family Arena as the two teams with longest winless streaks face-off in a Western Conference battle. Kalamazoo enters the game winless in their last 9 games, which ties a franchise record set last season. Missouri is also battling the losing bug, their loss to Fort Wayne last night gave them their franchise record for consecutive losses at 7 games.
With their loss last night the K-Wings are 5 games out of a playoff spot. The K-Wings trail both Port Huron and Rockford for the final playoff spot. Three weeks ago the River Otters led the UHL Western Division by 12 points, however, their current winless streak, coupled by Muskegon and Quad City heating up makes the race for the top spot in the Western Conference a close one. With Muskegon shootout loss, the Fury and River Otters are now tied for first place in the Western Conference. Quad City enters the day in third place in the conference, just two points behind Missouri and Muskegon.
