
Royals Making a Postseason Push

Reading Royals News Release
The Reading Royals began the weekend set to play five games in the next six days. That didn't happen due to the snowstorm that stormed along the mid-Atlantic region. The Royals final game of the weekend against the Trenton Titans on Sunday was postponed due to the weather. The game will be played on March 5 at 7:05 p.m. in the Sovereign Center. Friday night the Royals claimed their first Keystone Cup "Battle of Pennsylvania" with a 3-2 victory over the Johnstown Chiefs. The Royals took to the road on Sunday and hung on to knock off first place Atlantic City in overtime 6-5.
The Royals will have a full week this week. Reading battles the Richmond Renegades at home on Tuesday night. Blue Ball National Bank is the presenting sponsor and they will be giving away mini-hockey sticks to the first 2,000 fans through the gate. Wednesday the Royals take to the road for two games. Wednesday night the Royals battle the Trenton Titans before finishing up in Lexington on Friday. The Royals will battle the class of the Northwest on Sunday afternoon as the Toledo Storm make their only appearance in the Sovereign Center this season.

Friday, February 18 vs. Richmond Sovereign Center 7:05PM
GAME NOTES: This is the seventh meeting between the Royals and Renegades and final one in Reading. The Royals have posted a 3-2-1 mark this season against Richmond. The âGades broke a 3-game losing streak last meeting versus Reading winning 8-4 on February 8. Brad Church led the way for Richmond with a hat trick and five points. The two teams will meet for the final time on March 1 in Richmond Coliseum.
Wednesday, February 19 @ Trenton Sovereign Bank Arena 7:00PM
GAME NOTES: The Royals and Titans meet for the final time in Trenton on this night. Reading and Trenton will meet a total of ten times this season. The Royals have posted a mark against the Titans this season.
Friday, February 21 @ Lexington Rupp Arena 7:30PM
GAME NOTES: This is the second of three meetings against the Men-O-War this season. All three contests take place in Rupp Arena in Lexington. The Royals won the only meeting between these two teams this season 3-2 in an overtime shootout.
Sunday, February 23 vs. Toledo Sovereign Center 2:05PM
GAME NOTES: This game marks the first of two meetings between Reading and Toledo and only one in the Sovereign Center this season. The Royals hold an 0-1-1 mark at home against the Storm and are 1-1-1 all-time. The two teams will meet in Toledo on March 19, 2003.

GAME NOTES: The Reading Royals claimed their first ever Keystone Cup with a 3-2 victory on Friday. The Royals are 3-1-0 against the Chiefs this season with one game remaining in the season series. Colin Pepperall tallied the game winner for the Royals. Pepperall's seven game-winners ranks 4th in the ECHL.

GAME NOTES: The Reading Royals ended the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies five-game win streak with a 6-5 overtime victory. Reading's Mat Snesrud scored on a backhand two minutes into the extra four-on-four session. Atlantic City overcame a two-goal deficit in the third period to force overtime. Jeff Sanger stopped 29 shots in net for the Royals.
