Prince George Cougars News Release
Prince George, B.C. - As the Prince George Cougars Hockey Club begins preparing for the 2013-2014 season, we first wanted to thank and recognize the fans, volunteers, off-ice officials, billets, local media and corporate sponsors for their continued support in 2012-2013. Your contributions are vital to our ability to operate successfully.
We have some of the most loyal and passionate fans in the entire Western Hockey League. There is no place like the CN Centre when the fans are fired up, and our home opener victory against Seattle on September 28^th, 2012 and Teddy Bear Toss win against Vancouver on December 16^th, 2012 were excellent examples of that passion. The Cougars were happy to welcome a large number of business groups, minor hockey teams, and youth organizations to games this season. We appreciated your attendance very much.
Our loyal season-ticket holders stuck with our team through thick and thin and we were so grateful to see your familiar faces at the CN Centre on a nightly basis. Your knowledge, and support of the Prince George Cougars has not gone un-noticed, and we can't wait to welcome you back in September. You are a strong part of the fabric that holds our team together.
Without our volunteers, the Prince George Cougars would be unable to function. All of you played such a huge part in once again providing a safe and family-friendly atmosphere at our games. Thank you for spending so much of your valuable time assisting us before, during and after our games. Our game night promotions staff wanted to give a special thanks to the interns who were always keen and willing to lend a hand. No job was too big or too small, and that type of enthusiasm is hard to find.
A separate thank you goes towards our hard-working group of off-ice officials who once again worked tirelessly to make our games run smoothly. Without your dedication, professionalism and enthusiasm, our product would suffer. We are lucky to have you assisting us.
The Cougars are proud to recognize the billet families who continued to open their doors for our players and our organization. Relationships between players and billet families can often last a life-time, and we are so appreciative of the local families who provided food, shelter, hospitality and friendship for our players. You are an integral part of the Prince George Cougars organization.
Our local media must be thanked for their informative and consistent coverage of the Prince George Cougars. Your presence at our games, press conferences and community events was greatly appreciated. Moving forward, the Prince George Cougars are excited to build on the positive relationships with our local media outlets, and we thank you for your interest and coverage in 2012-2013.
This season the Prince George Cougars were thrilled to welcome many new corporate sponsors on board, while also maintaining strong relationships with businesses that have regularly supported us over the years. It means so much to us that you are willing to associate the good name of your business with our hockey team. We have some exciting plans for the 2013-2014 season, and we look forward to partnering up with the Prince George business community once again.
The 2013-2014 season promises to be an exciting one for the Prince George Cougars as new head coach Mark Holick gets ready to lead the group for his first full season. Not only will the Cougars boast several young up-and-comers from the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft, but they will also boast a strong core of returning forwards, defensemen and goaltenders that will all be hungry for improvement. One more time we want to thank everybody who watched, helped and supported the Prince George Cougars in 2012-2013, and we look forward to greater success both on and off the ice in 2013-2014 and beyond.
