June 8, 2006 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
Infielder Scott Seabol has been named Florida Marlins Minor League player of the month for May after his record-setting performance in which he batted .436 with 15 homers in 29 games, the organization announced today.
Seabol's May went beyond torrid, as the infielder collected 48 hits in 110 at-bats, including 10 doubles, while scoring 22 runs and driving in 31 more. His 15 dingers not only set an Isotopes record for homers in a month, it equaled a Pacific Coast League mark with Hall of Famer Tony Lazzeri, who hit 15 for the Salt Lake Bees in September, 1925.
His May performance also vaulted Seabol into the ranks of the PCL's leaders in five different offensive categories. The infielder currently ranks in the League's top six in batting average (.337), RBI (41), and extra base hits (31), and leads the circuit in homers (16) and slugging percentage (.668).
The Marlins' Pitcher of the Month for May was left-hander Aaron Thompson of the Class-A Greensboro Grasshoppers, who finished the month with a 4-0 record and a 0.53 ERA in 33.2 innings-pitched over five starts.
