DES MOINES -- The Round Rock Express opened an eight-game road trip Thursday with an outstanding come from behind, 3-1 win over the Iowa Cubs at Principal Park.

Express starter, Jason Hirsch, who picked up the win, gave up a two-out triple and an RBI single in the first inning to give the Cubs the lead, shut down the Iowa offense after that, only allowing another base hit in his six innings of work.

Round Rock tied the game in the sixth inning when center fielder Mike Rodriguez doubled with one out. Third baseman Brooks Conrad ripped a triple off the center field wall to score Rodriguez and tie the game 1-1.

The Express took the lead on three base hits in the seventh inning, with shortstop Cody Ransom's infield scoring Royce Huffman from third, making it 2-1 Express.

Left fielder Luke Scott blasted his 16th homer of the season over the center field wall in the eighth inning, making it a final 3-1 Express.

Round Rock got three outstanding, shut out relief innings from David Lee, Mike Gallo and Roberto Giron to ice away the win. Giron picked up his third save on the season.
