OMAHA - The Omaha Royals return to Rosenblatt Stadium tonight (Thursday, June 8) to open a four-game homestand vs. the Oklahoma RedHawks. A post-game Christian rock concert and a bat giveaway highlight the homestand's promotions:
Thursday, June 8, 7:05 p.m.: It's Thursty Thursday, with drink specials courtesy of Miller Brands and Z-92! The Omaha rock band "Final Trap Fall" performs in the front plaza beginning at 6:00 p.m. The "Use Your Head" fitted hat sale opens at Royal Treasures. Fans will receive an estimated savings of 17 to 33% during the sale, which only runs through the end of this homestand on Sunday, June 11.
Friday, June 9, 7:05 p.m.: It's Fireworks Friday, presented by the Nebraska National Guard, KETV-Channel 7 and The Brew 96.1 FM!
Saturday, June 10, 6:05 p.m.: It's Faith & Family Night, brought to you by K-Love, WOWT-Channel 6 and 1290 News Talk KKAR. The popular Christian rock band "The Afters", with a song featured on the MTV show "8th and Ocean", will perform following the game! Also, the 1st 1,500 fans will receive an Omaha Royals team photo.
Sunday, June 11, 1:35 p.m.: It's Lockheed Martin Military Appreciation and Family Fun Day, with the 1st 1,000 fans receiving Little League bats, courtesy of Lockheed Martin and KPTM-Fox 42. Throwing out ceremonial first pitches will be USSTRATCOM Commander General James E. Cartwright, Brigadier General Jonathan D. George and Nebraska's Lt. Govenor, Rick Sheehy. Also, a lucky fan will win a drawing for a watch, courtesy of Borsheim's. And one lucky fan will win a car if the Royals hit a grand slam in the Hyundai Grand Slam 5th Inning. Get a free general admission ticket by bringing a can of Our Family Brands Food, which goes to the Omaha Food Bank and The Open Door Mission. Sunday also features the Coca-Cola $30 Family Pack (4 tickets, 4 Cokes and 4 popcorns). Finally, all kids are invited to run the bases after the game!
REMINDER: Tickets for the July 3 Omaha World-Herald Fireworks game are currently on sale at the Royals ticket office at Rosenblatt Stadium, www.etix.com, or by calling 738-5100. This season the Royals have teamed with the Omaha World-Herald, the City of Omaha and Qwest to have a fun-filled day of great family entertainment. Tickets are going at a brisk pace. Fans are encouraged to go to www.etix.com to print their tickets right at home, eliminating having to wait in line to pick up tickets.
