Coste joins Lynx in Buffalo

OTTAWA - The Phillies optioned Catcher Chris Coste to the Lynx today.

Coste made headlines last season after making his Major League debut at the age of 33. He had an outstanding Spring Training in 2006 and got the call from Philadelphia May 21st.

Presented with his first chance at Major League pitching, Coste hit .328 with 7 HR and 32 RBI in 65 games. Coste is a career .287 hitter over 12 Minor League seasons.

This Spring, he was placed on the Phillies disabled list retroactive to March 23rd with a hamstring injury. He has been activated from the DL and joins the Lynx in time for the first of a four-game series against the Buffalo Bisons, today in Buffalo.

This is the first season the Lynx are the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Lynx home opener is scheduled for April 17th against the Charlotte Knights at 7:05pm.
