LOUISVILLE, KY-After eight hitless innings, Louisville got two hits in the bottom of the ninth, including a walk-off, broken bat single by Bubba Crosby to beat the Columbus Clippers 1-0. Prior to the ninth, the Bats hadn't scored a run since the ten-run explosion in the bottom of the third last night vs. Toledo. In front of 5,997 fans, the Bats improve to 4-1 on the season. .

Pinch hitter Aaron Herr doubled to deep right center field to get the rally started in the bottom of the ninth. Herr advanced to third on a ground out by LF Tyrell Godwin. After working the count to three balls and one strike, Bubba Crosby knocked a two-out single into right center, driving in the game winning run.

Major League veteran Tony Batista went 2-for-3 at the plate for Columbus. Batista got a two-out double in the seventh, but the Clippers were unable to take advantage of the rare scoring opportunity as the next batter, catcher Brandon Harper, went down swinging to end the inning.

Louisville pitcher Mike Gosling did not allow a run in his 2007 debut. Gosling was pulled after six, but looked solid allowing only three hits while striking out four. Wes Wilkerson (1-0) gets the win in relief, pitching 2.0 innings to complete the shut out.

The Clippers pitching staff was even more impressive through eight innings. Starting pitcher Emiliano Fruto pitched solid in 6.0 innings of work, holding the Bats to no hits. Reliever Mike Bacsik (0-1) allowed both hits in the ninth and gets credited with the loss.
