Charlotte Knights News Release

FORT MILL, S.C. - April 9, 2007 - An elbow injury wiped out Vladimir Nunez's 2006 season, but you wouldn't have guessed it during his pitching performance Monday night. The victory was the second in a row for Charlotte

The Knights scored in three consecutive innings including OF Luis Terrero's home run in the bottom of the 4th. It was Terrero's team leading third home run of the season.

Dwayne Pollock (S, 1) pitched 1 1/3 of the 9th for his first save of the season, striking out two of the four batters he faced.

This was the first game in a four game series between the Knights and Chiefs. On Tuesday, RHP Dustin McGowan (0-0) will start for the Chiefs, while RHP Heath Phillips (0-1, 7.50 ERA) takes the mound for the Knights. Game time is 7:15 p.m.
