Condors to host annual Open House October 5
September 9, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, will host their annual Open House & Family Day at the Bakersfield Ice Sports Center on Sunday, Oct. 5, from noon - 3 p.m.
With training camp underway, the Open House is the first chance for fans to see the 2008-09 Condors on the ice. The team will participate in a morning practice and shootout, and afterward the players will join the fans on the ice for a free public skate. The annual event is open to the public, and free for anyone who brings two non-perishable food items. All the food collected will be donated to the Kern County Food Bank. Nearly 16,000 pounds of food have been collected through the previous six years of the Open House.
The Open House is also the first chance for fans to pick up their ticket packages and season ticket holder gifts, for anyone who has paid in full. If you're a Kids Club member, packages will also be available for pick up as well. For more information about the Condors Kids Club, visit CondorsKids.com or call the office at 324-PUCK (7825).
"I think this is one of those events that we all look forward to, from the fans to the front office - it's basically the kick-off to the new season," said Condors President Matthew Riley. "All the new players in town get their first glimpse at the passion of our fans and folks can hit the ice with the team."
Select-A-Seat Parties
This Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12-13, the Condors will host a two-day Select-A-Seat Party at Rabobank Arena. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., fans can come down to the arena and view seats that are available for season tickets. Enjoy complimentary lunch with free hotdogs, popcorn and soda, as well as fun and games for the kids, and anyone purchasing a ticket package at the event will get a free $10 gas card. Condors players, coaches and mascots will be there to sign autographs and greet the fans as well.
