Florida Everblades News Release

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced today the team has signed defenseman Jeff Dunne to a contract for the 2008-09 season.

Dunne jumps to the professional ranks after wrapping up a four-year collegiate career at Michigan State University that included a National Championship in 2007. During his senior year in 2007-08 the 23-year-old picked up seven points (3g, 4a) and 29 penalty minutes in 37 games. Dunne helped lead the Spartans to the third NCAA Championship in school history in 2006-07 by tallying 11 points (1g, 10a) in 33 games.

"Jeff is a solid, stay-at-home defenseman that we're real excited about adding to our roster." Cameron said. "He's the kind of player that we can use in a multitude of roles. Jeff's a good penalty killer and we think he'll compliment the rest of our defensive core very well. He's also another player on our squad who brings championship experience to the locker room which is invaluable."

Over Dunne's four-year career at MSU, the Grover, Missouri native totaled 24 points (4g, 20a) and 68 PIM in 114 games. Prior to playing at the college level the 5-foot-11 blue-liner played a pair of seasons at the junior level with the Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League, tallying 31 points in 107 games.
