Salmon Kings Invited To Canucks' Prospects Camps

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that three players that have suited up for the Salmon Kings have been invite to the Vancouver Canucks' Prospect Training Camp in Vancouver.

Goaltender Julien Ellis along with defensemen Patrick Coulombe and Daniel Rahimi will be apart of the Canucks' prospects camp. All three players are under contract to the Canucks and both Ellis and Rahimi were drafted by the NHL club. During the 2007-08 season all three spent time with the Salmon Kings.

Ellis, a sixth round selection (#189 overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, led Victoria with a record of 24-11-2-3 with a 3.18 goals against average and a 0.908 save percentage. The Sorel, QC born Ellis was also voted as the starter for the National Conference for the ECHL All-Star Game.

Coulombe played in 58 games for the Salmon Kings last season. The St. Fabien, QC native notched 8 goals and 22 assists for 30 points along with 40 minutes in penalties.

Rahimi, a third round selection (#82 overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, suited up for 19 games for Victoria. The Umea, Sweden product contributed 5 assists and 19 minutes in penalties.

The camp begins on Friday September 12th at the UBC Thunderbird Arena.
