November 29, 2009 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release

Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors (14-6-0-0, 28pts) celebrated Teddy Bear Toss at Rabobank Arena in front of a near capacity crowd of 8,825, and knocked off the Las Vegas Wranglers (6-12-1-0, 13pts) 3-2 to extend their winning streak to six and their home winning streak to eight. F Andrew Ianiero recorded a goal and two assists, while RW Stephane Goulet registered two points, including the goal that triggered the teddy bear frenzy.

With the season's largest crowd on hand, most clutching stuffed animals, they had plenty to cheer about in the first period. Goulet scored 6:34 into the game to launch the teddy bears. When play resumed, the Condors were able to extend their lead with a pair of late goals. F Matthew Myers notched his first of the season at 17:31, and Ianiero, who assisted on both earlier goals, scored one of his own at 19:47 on the power play to make it 3-0.

Vegas scored the only goal of the middle frame, with D Jason Krischuk finding the back of the net on the power play at 17:17. The rest of the period featured some wide-open offensive stretches, several scuffles after the whistle, and a penalty shot for the Condors' Goulet (stopped by Wranglers G Michael Ouzas). Shots were 20-18 Wranglers after 40 minutes.

G Timo Pielmeier was called upon often in the third and he held down the fort with a 14-save frame. The Wranglers pulled within a goal with a power play tally by F Ryan Weston at 9:14, but the equalizer eluded them. The Condors goalie stopped 33 shots on the night for his fourth straight victory and was rewarded with the Third Star of the night.
