
Condors hold Job Fair, National Anthem and Mascot Tryouts this week

How Sweet it is:
Condors Hockey has reached the Sweet 16 of Bakersfield Life Magazine's "Greatest Thing About Bakersfield" tournament. Condors Hockey defeated the Beale Library in the first round of voting and Bakersfield country music legend Merle Haggard in the second round. Condors Hockey now goes head-to-head with the Fox Theater; voters will have until Oct. 3 to cast their ballots.
The quarter final match-ups will be announced in the October issue of the Bakersfield Life Magazine. Each month brings another round until January, when the greatest thing about Bakersfield will be announced.
This Week in Condorstown:
Monday, Sept. 22: The Condors will hold National Anthem tryouts from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Rabobank Arena. Bakersfield's own Amy Adams, American Idol finalist from season three, will serve as a guest judge along with Condors front office personnel. Individual singers and small groups are invited to audition for the chance to perform in front of thousands during the season. Those able to sing the Canadian National Anthem are also encouraged to attend. Call the front office at 324-PUCK (7825) in advance to sign up for a time slot.
Tuesday, Sept. 23: Condors mascot Baby Cal and front office staff members will attend the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce's Business After Five Mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Rabobank Arena. The Condors and other local businesses will be at the mixer to network, socialize and inform others about their respective products. Admission is $5 for members of the Chamber, $10 for nonmembers.
Wednesday, Sept. 24: The Condors will hold a Media Roundtable at Tailgaters Sports Grill from noon to 1 p.m. Condors speakers will include Head Coach Marty Raymond, F Dave Bonk and President Matthew Riley. Tailgaters is located at 900 Truxtun Ave #110. The roundtable is exclusive to members of the media who should RSVP to 324-PUCK (7825).
Wednesday, Sept. 24: The Condors Job Fair will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Rabobank Theater and Convention Center. Game-day employment opportunities include: Program Sales, Promotions Team, Kids Zone, Chuck-A-Puck Sales, Mascot Bodyguard, Merchandise Sales and more. Applicants must be available for the majority of Condors home games. Those interested are encouraged to fill out an application in the Condors front office prior to the Job Fair to secure an early interview appointment.
Friday, Sept. 26: Mascot Tryouts will be held at 4 p.m. at the Bakersfield Ice Sports Center, located at 1325 Q Street. The Condors are looking for individuals with charisma, enthusiasm, and a passion for entertaining. Applicants must be able to attend community appearances during the work week and interact with fans on game nights. Most importantly, applicants must be energetic and enthusiastic, and be willing to act silly and loveable for all our fans.
Friday, Sept. 26: Condors D Tyler Scott and mascot Baby Cal will ride on the firefighters float prior to the West High School homecoming football game at West High School. Scott and Baby Cal will be available to mingle with fans during the game as well as sign autographs and pose for photos.
