Salmon Kings Bring Rookie On Board

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they have signed rookie defensemen Rob Jarvis for the 2008-09 season.

The 6-2, 200lbs Jarvis played in 28 games last season for the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees. During that span he collected 19 points (6g-13a). For his two years in a Gee-Gees' jersey the Ottawa native played in 39 games notching 8 goals and 17 assists for 25 points while picking up 20 penalty minutes.

"Rob had a very good collegiate career," General Manager and Head Coach Mark Morrison said, "and we look forward to seeing him perform at the professional level."

Prior to playing for the University of Ottawa, the 23-year-old played three years at Dartmouth College of the NCAA. Over those three seasons he had seven assists and 12 penalty minutes in 19 games.

Jarvis is the 14th player the Salmon Kings have signed for the upcoming season. He joins fellow forwards Jacob Dietrich, Jordan Foote, Marc Fulton, Wes Goldie, Shaun Landolt, Darryl Lloyd, Chris St. Jacques and Jeremy Schenderling as well as defenseman Darren Deschamps, Matt Kelly, Mike Nesdill, Jeremy Swanson and Tim Wedderburn.
