Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - C Dave Bonk and C Bruce Graham both scored twice in a 7-4 Bakersfield Condors victory over the Las Vegas Wranglers in front of 6,324 fans at Rabobank Arena Saturday night. Bakersfield now sits just one point behind the Wranglers for second place in the Pacific Division.

The Condors (32-31-7, 71pts) jumped out to the 1-0 lead with D Chris Kaufman notching his 5th of the season at 3:05 of the first. But Vegas (32-30-8, 72pts) responded with a pair of tallies over the rest of the frame, stealing the advantage. The Wranglers held a 13-12 lead in shots through the first period, with G Yutaka Fukufuji and Vegas G Glenn Fisher manning the pipes.

Bakersfield, however, regained all the momentum they needed early in the second period. Graham put home his first of the night 1:48 into the period, and Bonk extended the lead with his 30th of the campaign at 6:23 to make it 3-2 Bakersfield after 40 minutes.

A four-goal third period for the Condors buried Las Vegas. Bonk and Graham scored in the first 1:21 of play to give Bakersfield a three-goal bulge on the scoreboard. RW Liam Huculak and LW Mark Derlago also lit the lamp for Bakersfield en route to the final score. With Bonk reaching the 30-goal plateau, he joins Derlago and F Matt Pope for the only time three players have scored 30 goals in a Condors uniform in the same season. Fukufuji was touched up twice in the final period, but made 36 saves for his 17th win of the season.
