SERIES HISTORY:
Tonight is the final meeting of the season between Bakersfield and Idaho, with the Condors just 1-4-1 against the Steelheads this season. The Condors are 31-40-8 all-time against the Steelheads, dating back to the WCHL in 1997-98.
In the first meeting on October 21st, the Condors led 2- 0 entering the third, but Idaho scored three times to steal the win. Less than a month later, on November 18th at The Nest, the Condors led 1-0 entering the third, and both teams scored twice, with Bakersfield hanging on for the 3-2 victory.
The teams played a three-game set in Idaho to close out 2006, with the Steelheads getting the better of it in all three. On December 27, again the Condors held the lead going to the final stanza, but Idaho scored three times for a 5-3 triumph. The next night, Bakersfield trailed by a goal late in the third, but Brett Lutes scored to send it to overtime and ultimately a shootout won by Idaho. In the finale, the Condors led 1-0 early, but the Steelheads notched the next five goals and skated off with a 5-3 victory.
Wednesday night, the Condors jumped out to an early 2-0 lead as Lutes tallied twice, but couldn't hold it and fell 4-3. John Lammers was the star for Idaho, scoring the game-winner and assisting on two others.
